Th3heights: How did you get involved with Broadway Speaks OUT?
David Singletary: Well it was actually kind of by accident. I have always had people tell me "Your funny...you should have a show!" So I decided to take their advice. I wanted to do a youtube show that centered on hot topics/media gossip/ and political events from my perspect

Hello, All You Theatre Fans!
To you who are interested in acting, here's some good news. I write for an audition advice blog on another site, The Audition Physician, and I have gotten permission to share some of my writing here. As a theatre director who is in charge of casting for my company, I have to run a lot of auditions and see a lot of actors. If my sharing my advice here helps any actors do a better job at the auditions I run, I will be very happy. So, I will start f

I'll tell you what obscure Shakespeare is. It's a little 3-ish hour play called Measure for Measure. My college's theatre "department" (you get quotes when the department only has two members) is putting this show on as this semester's play, and our opening night was yesterday.
But I can tell you about opening night shenanigans later, if you so desire. I want to focus on the play itself. Measure for Measure is one o

Yet another reinvention of a previous contest on TS.
Broadway Scavenger is a three hour online and offline scavenger hunt. Several tasks will be assigned to start. This may be a combination of Googling skills, researching Web sites, finding objects around the house, finding others to help you and perhaps a short field trip (nothing toooutrageous.) The first to complete all of the tasks wins. All tasks will be Broadway themed - so it…

For five weeks we'll be re-writing Broadway history and the lyrics to some of the most recognizable Broadway melodies of all time. Each week you'll be asked by a famous composer and or lyricist to help them through the often bumpy road to opening night on Broadway. One winner with the best lyrics will be chosen for the first four weeks, and on the fifth week there will be a winner-take-all showdown between the four semi-finalists. The grand prize is $50 of BC/EFA merchandise from the…

Everyone and their mom thinks they've got the best Christopher Walken impression. But trust us, it's tougher than Jay Mohr makes it look.

A BEHANDING IN SPOKANE.
So slick back your hair, master the art of the pregnant pause, and show us your best Walken! To enter, check out the…

Wow, I haven't written in awhile! I apologize for my absence. What a month it's been!
I've been, more or less, busy with rehearsal for a production of "Comedy of Errors" at my university and attending various auditions for grad schools. I now know what the life of a Broadway actor is like! Wowza!
Along the way, so far, I've met some perfectly marvelous people at the auditions. They are all so talented and such great personalities. I'm thankful to have met them during this time.…

NEW YORK (AP) - New York City will keep Broadway permanently closed to traffic in Times Square after an experimental trial run.
A person familiar with the decision says Mayor Michael Bloomberg has decided to keep the area a pedestrian walkway. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the announcement had not been made.
The city created pedestrian plazas on two stretches of Broadway last year. The goals were to reduce pollution, increase safety…

As Theatrestory.com ramps up for another exciting year on Broadway, we’ll be adding a major feature. New message boards are coming as a standalone feature to the site. More robust than the current threaded forums, and less focused than TS groups, we have high hopes for this area to become the hub of every day conversation about Broadway. Although "technically" separate from Theatrestory.com and your profile, once a new account is created, it’s easy to keep logged in to both sites at the same tim…
